Biography

Francine Larivée lives and works in Montreal. Since 1972 she has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Canada, Europe and the US. Her remarkable career is characterised notably by interventions on natural sites (among others, the University of Moncton’s Ecological Park (New-Brunswick), 2004; the Lachine Canal in Montreal, 2002; Jardins de Métis in Grand-Métis, 1993, 1994 and 1996; Parc Marie-Victorin in Longueuil, 1995), as well as by some fifteen commissioned public art works. Her work is part of private collections in Canada and the US, as well as public collections including the National Art Gallery of Canada, the Canada Council Art Bank, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montreal, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (Art Loan Collection) and the Musée régional de Rimouski.
