This work is part of a series of seven paintings, each of which shows the boreal forest from a distinct point of view. A particularity of this series is the desire to leave visible traces of its various creative processes, such as the presence of pixelated forms evoking the digital origin of the images. As for the drawing, it’s not only the fruit of personal expression, but results above all from the tracing of a projection on the painting. This process manifests the will to document the reference space rather than interpret it, which increases the linear, even topographic aspect of the paintings in this series.
